This course will familiarize students with MIT App Inventor, a visual programming platform designed to make learning app creation accessible and enjoyable for all. Kids will engage in online sessions to understand the essential concepts and develop the skills to create interactive mobile applications.

MIT App Inventor is designed to demystify app development and make it accessible to everyone, regardless of prior coding experience. Its user-friendly interface, drag-and-drop features, and intuitive design make it an ideal platform for beginners to dive into the exciting realm of mobile app creation.
Additional Coding Concepts
Beyond the core programming concepts, kids will also gain exposure to fundamental coding principles, such as event-driven programming, conditional statements, debugging, user feedback, and app testing.
Are there any prerequisites?
This course is tailored for beginners with no prior mobile app development experience. However, it is preferable if students complete “Coding with Scratch Level 1” and “Coding with Scratch Level 2”. No specific knowledge of MIT App Inventor is required. Kids only need a computer with an internet connection and a passion for learning.
What Will Your Child Learn?
Kids will explore MIT APP Inventor’s interface and discover the mobile app development trio —Data, Logic, and Presentation. Our instructors will give them an overview of database, client-server, and API architecture. Students will also learn multimedia integration and the use of sensors and device features.
What is the Course Format?
Our course consists of eight weekly online sessions, each lasting about one hour. Session recordings are also available for supplementary learning. At the end of this course, the child’s progress will be assessed before parents, and a certificate of completion will be awarded along with the assessment report.
