This course will cover the following topics.
Introduction to Algorithms
In the first session, we will introduce kids to the basic idea of coding and give instructions to make things happen. We’ll use colorful cards to help kids understand how to create a series of actions in a logical order.
Meeting the First Coding Robot
In this session, kids will get to know Code-a-Pillar, a friendly coding robot. They’ll learn how to guide Code-a-Pillar’s movements by arranging special pieces, which is a bit like playing with a magical toy that follows their commands.
Reinforcing Sequence and Loops
Sphero Indi Cars Now it’s time for some exciting fun with Sphero Indi cars! Kids will practice sequencing and discover loops, which are like the magic behind making our cars go fast and do interesting things.
Creating First Animation
In this exciting session, your child will take their first steps into the world of animation. They’ll use Scratch Jr. to make characters come alive through movement and storytelling. It’s like giving their imagination a magical touch!
Learning and Practicing Sequence
Building on the previous session, we delve into sequencing, teaching kids how to organize actions in a step-by-step manner. Through enjoyable activities, they’ll practice this concept, helping them grasp the fundamental skill of arranging actions logically.
Learning Decomposition
We introduce Botley, another fantastic robot friend. Children will learn how to break down complex tasks into smaller, more manageable steps to make Botley move and perform actions.
Introduction to Scratch Jr.
We’ll explore the digital world using Scratch Jr., an app that allows children to create their own stories and animations by snapping together colorful blocks. It’s like using digital building blocks for creative expression.
First Game
In our final session, children will become budding game designers. They’ll create simple games with Scratch Jr., design challenges, and have loads of fun while learning.
