with Scratch: Level 1
An eight-week course where students will learn the basics of coding through Scratch, a visual programming language that makes learning fun and more accessible.
An eight-week course where students will learn the basics of coding through Scratch, a visual programming language that makes learning fun and more accessible. The weekly online sessions will cover essential concepts of coding. Students will also create games and animations.
Why Scratch?
Scratch is a visual programming language for beginners with no or little coding knowledge. Its intuitive interface, drag-and-drop blocks, and engaging visual elements make it an ideal platform for those who want to explore the programming world without a technical background.
Additional Coding Concepts
Beyond the core programming concepts, kids will also gain exposure to fundamental coding principles, such as event-driven programming, conditional statements, debugging, data manipulation, and scene management.
Are there any prerequisites?
The course is designed for kids who aspire to become junior programmers without prior knowledge. Hence, kids don’t need a prior understanding of Scratch. A computer, an internet connection, and a passion for learning are required.
What will your child Learn?
Kids will explore the Scratch Interface, the art of controlling sprites, and understand the concept of coordinates. Besides, they will discover the power of variables to manipulate information, learn to apply operators to perform calculations and apply sensors to the Scratch projects.
What is the Course Format?
Our course consists of eight weekly online sessions, each lasting about one hour. Session recordings are also available for supplementary learning. At the end of this course, the child’s progress will be assessed before parents, and a certificate of completion will be awarded along with the assessment report.
Explore Our Projects
Here’s a glimpse of the projects students will work on during this course.
Popping Balloons
This fun and engaging game will introduce your child to essential coding concepts such as sprite manipulation, event-driven programming, and variables.
Tom and Jerry
This engaging project will cover the fundamental programming concepts enabling children to learn to control sprites, detect collisions, customize the game’s appearance, and implement conditional statements and loops.
Talking Robot
This imaginative project will help your child learn to control a talking robot, customize different backgrounds, utilize sensors combined with operators, and respond to user input through questions.
Go Green
Interactive Recycling Bin game created in Scratch to teach students about controlling the movement of sprites using coordinates and storing scores in variables.
